Cuidando Los Niños has been working to end childhood homelessness since 1988—36 years of relentless dedication. I joined this mission just three months ago, as the Senior Director of Development and Communications. I’ve been deep in campaign building, sharing our vision, and inviting people to be part of this life-changing work. But to truly understand the heart of Cuidando, I needed to hear its story firsthand.
Yesterday, I had lunch with Lauri Reiter, the woman who started it all. As I waited in the booth at the diner for her to arrive, I hoped this conversation would be the start of a journey—one that would connect me, and ultimately others, to the passion that fueled Cuidando’s beginnings.
