Supportive Housing
Supportive Housing Programs
Cuidando Los Niños follows a “Housing First” model, recognizing that families have a greater chance of overcoming adversity when they first have a stable home. Once housed, they can fully engage with our comprehensive support services, including workforce development, trauma-informed education, and family success planning.
To that end, Cuidando Los Niños is dedicated to guiding families through every step of the process, including:

Rental assistance and temporary housing to give families a safe place to live off the streets as quickly as possible.

Home visits to follow up with goals, and ensure family stability.

Additional support to provide clothing and food items, and or wellness support as needed.
Our housing program combines rental assistance and support services to provide a multifaceted approach to stabilizing our families. Our city-funded rapid rehousing programs cover:
- 12 months of paid rent
- Rental application fees
- Security deposits
- Utility assistance and much more

In addition to helping the families who attend our preschool, our department also supports families with older children in the community who come to us through the coordinated entry system and local shelters. At any given time, we provide housing for an average of 25 families, along with many more who receive supportive services.
